Damsel was founded by two sisters, Ioanna and Fani . Damsel is an all girl rock outfit, in case the name didn't indicate it. But, they aren't one of those frilly, star gazing female rock bands. Not by a longshot, as this Queens, NY quartet have cut their teeth on hard rock, and it shows on their 11 track disc. From the anthemic choruses to the wah pedaled guitar solos ("Down", "Broken"), Damsel have got the rock and dole it out accordingly. They also know how to diversify their mix, sometimes going tropical ("One") and at others taking it down a notch and letting their hearts sing out loud ("Sometimes"), all without yielding their hard rock premises. For a shot of rock that rivals what the boys can do ("Can't Stop"), let Damsel show you a thing or two. (www.damselmusic.com) (Mike--SOS)
Damsel is the latest in a series of talented female bands to release a Cd entitled "Time", which is likely to go over well with fans of melodic rock. One of the best songs on the album is "Bleed" a rocking and somewhat a dark relationship song . Also strong are the title track "Time" and "Broken". They definately capture the attention and appreciation of music lovers. This cd is worth a listen.

After careful review I have found that Damsel's lyrics are like a story from our lives, emotional and meaningful yet these sisters could still rock out. This may be the next big thing. (Kely Meyers--D.Entertainment)
The music of Damsel is whimisical, spiritually deep from the soul of these lovely talented song divas. The songs they write are solid and memorable, and they carry off the vocals beautifully, but with an edge. Young, sensual and very sexy, they have all the ingredients needed to become a success in this Millenium

Damsel can play rock with the best of them. The songs are similar to rock bands like Gypsy Queen, 180, and Elyn Fleming as well as more modern artists like No Doubt and Luce Drayton. Ioanna's vocal style is very powerful and sharp. Overall these ladies offer a sense of diversity with their music that is quite fresh and exciting and could take the term "Women In Rock" a step further.

Female vocals are still a rare enough treat in the rock industry to catch hold of them when you can. Damsel just may make it worth your while. Two sisters (Ioanna Dourakis on vocals and bass, and Fani Dourakis on guitar) formed this NYC-based group and continue to play frequently about town. Ioanna's vocals are long on power. The band's songs are a melodic mix of rock with a touch of folk thrown in for good measure. .

Well-produced Hard Rock, Female vocalists probably spent a lot of time working out the melodies. Thank you ladies. Our ears could use it
